Mantova is a football team with a long history that begins in 1911, when the Associazione Mantovana del Calcio was founded. The team has experienced moments of glory and difficulty, but has always maintained its identity and passion for football. In 1919/20, Mantova participated in the Emilia First Category Championship and in the First Division in 1921/22. The following years will be in First Division Championships, some with an interregional character. And then, in 1934, the team changed its name to Mantova Sportiva and was admitted to the new Serie C. But Mantova's history is not just that of a football team, but also of a city and a community that identifies with its colors and history. So, in 1956, the sponsor, the oil company OZO, arrived, which not only changed the name to Associazione Calcio Ozo Mantova, but also the social colors. The team was built by Italo Allodi, one of the greatest Italian football managers of the last century, and on the bench was Edmondo Fabbri. In 1960/61, Mantova won the Championship and reached the Serie A for the first time in its history. The team has also had difficult moments, such as the descent into B in 1966/67 and the return to A in 1970/71. But Mantova does not give up and continues to fight for its history and identity. In 1994, the company was removed from the F.I.G.C. rolls due to financial bankruptcy and the Mantova Calcio 1994 was born. After three years among the amateurs, it reconquered the C2 in 1996/97 and remained there until the end of the 2003/2004 season when it reconquered the Serie C1 and the following year the Serie B. Mantova's history is a story of passion, dedication, and love for football.
